Wii Tanks

Anyone remember this? God, who knew that fast bullets slightly homed in on the player. I know it’s hard to believe, but I’m pretty sure it’s hitbox isn’t big enough to hit you when you’re standing beside where it’d go if it’s path wasn’t curved slightly.

Eastern Slavic Naming Customs

I found out that Kalinka Cossack's middle initial was a patronym, so her full name was actually,

Kalinka Mikhailovna Cossack [Калинка Михайловна Казак]

New logo idea

Greetings, people of Nintendo Wiki.
My name is Lyric West.
I'm 16 years old, I have asperger syndrome, and I have an obsession over logos and fonts.
I own a fanmade company named "Westral".
I come from Logopedia, with something of a new logo idea for this wiki.
It's based around Nintendo's "alternate" logo style, which I call "Wii-esque".

The typeface used for said alternate logo was remade as accurately as possible, with various SVGs and other images to help.
There's also a short, abbreviated version, too.

I don't know how this idea will go, but hey, it's worth a shot.
Thanks for watching, or in this case, reading.

Nintendo List missing Info

The list of Nintendo games released in the US is missing a lot of information. Like when was the Castlevania games released and when was the Zelda CD-i games released? This page needs some work done on it:

NES Metroid (North American version) has the wrong release date

Hello,
Just wanted to give you the heads-up that the North American version of Metroid is incorrectly listed with an August 1986 release date.  This was actually the release date for the Famicom Disk System version in Japan.  The North American cartridge release was actually August 1987.  Would someone be able to update this in the "List of NES games" section on the Wiki?
Thanks,
Visor

Balloon Fight Wiki Affiliation

Hi! I'm the founder of the Balloon Fight Wiki, and I'd like to know if the admins at this wiki would like to affiliate our wikis. Currently, we have over 100 pages, with 99% of them written by me alone. The wiki really needs (new) contributors, and I'd imagine this wiki is the most relevant one to Balloon Fight to be affiliated with. Also, since I haven't really been affiliated with another wiki before, what should I do on my wiki as part of it? Is there a template, or am I supposed to just have a link to here on the main page?
In case you need to know, the URL for the wiki is balloon-fight.wikia.com. Thanks in advance for your time!

Composer pages, including song lists?

Hello everyone. I've been around editing some composer pages, and I have a suggestion to do.
There have been several other wikis like Sega Retro or the Capcom Database offering detailed information on video game composers (on Sega and Capcom, respectively), and I couldn't help but feel that there should also be that kind of attention regarding Nintendo composers (since there's really no site on the Internet devoted to the musicians of such company).
My suggestion is to open and write articles regarding Nintendo composers (or any other composer closely involved with the company), as well as providing a coprehensive list for each one with all of their musical work in the company.
What do you think? I would like to know if I could have green light with this project.

Transitioning to more mobile-friendly infoboxes

Hello Nintendo Wiki Community
We’re reaching out to a few of our top communities, hoping you might adopt the migration to the new infobox markup. And we have tools to help.
Why we’re doing this
Simply put: Most current infobox structures translate very poorly to mobile devices, and indeed any device that doesn’t use desktop-style displays. On desktops and laptops, they often look amazing. The problem is that more and more of our contributors visit Wikia from a mobile device.
To see just how much traffic has become mobile, you can check out this graph from our forum post about infoboxes a couple weeks back:

Mobile is the future. Not just for Wikia, but for the web as a whole. Take a look at the recent trends and future growth predictions for mobile traffic - it's staggering.
We partnered with the Wikia community to create this new markup to make sure that your hard work can be displayed on mobile devices (as well as any future technologies) easily and without any new coding conventions. It'll take some effort up front, but we’re here to help with it, and the work you put in now will pay for itself tenfold in the future.
Tools we’ve designed to make the process easier
We've enabled two new features on your community. One is a tool for migrating the "old" infobox code to the new markup. It identifies templates on your wikia that look like infobox templates and places a box on the right rail of the template page. When you click the "Generate draft markup" button in this box, it opens a new tab containing a draft of your infobox using the new markup. This won't contain your previous CSS styling, though (assuming you've used any), and if you want the infoboxes to still look the same on desktop, you'll have to add it to Special:CSS instead of into the template, where it was before.
The second is a new feature on Special:Insights that will highlight which infoboxes on your wikia have not been migrated to the new infobox markup. It's fairly intuitive - you can click on the infobox title link itself to see the old markup, or simply click the "Convert!" button on the right, which performs the same action as the "Generate draft markup" button.
This is our help page for the new markup. I'll also watch this post - so feel free to ask any questions you have about this, and of course any questions other community members might have!
Nintendo Wiki Case
In the case of the Nintendo Wiki, there are a wide variety of in-use infobox templates, and many include a variety of images within them, but the conversion process should go pretty smoothly in their current style. I'm well versed with this conversion process and will gladly pitch in to help update them. If any of you are curious to how some templates would look in their new style, let me know and I can show you drafts and examples.
I'd love to hear from the current adminbase as well as major contributors here about their thoughts/questions/concerns with this new markup style. Please let me know if it's a move that you'd support or not in the replies! Thanks for reading TheBlueRogue •(profile)•(talk)•(doug@wikia-inc.com) 19:12, August 28, 2015 (UTC)

Greetings from Rhythm Heaven Wiki

Hello everyone. This is the admin for Rhythm Heaven Wiki, the most popular place to get info on the Rhythm Heaven series (well, as a wiki that is). We need video game affiliations badly right now, and I was wondering if you would like to partner up? Here is the wiki rhythmheaven.wikia.com

Interlanguage links

I notice there are other languages of Nintendo Wiki that this one is connected to--at least German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Japanese, and Chinese that I see. However, connections between individual pages seem a bit lacking. Random example, the Japanese wiki's page for Wizards & Warriors links to its English counterpart, but the English one doesn't link back.
I've added a few manually, but there are some much quicker ways to get a lot of them set up using bot programs. This is something I take care of at another family of wikis, so I could provide some more information on this if anyone's interested. It actually should be pretty easy for me to run through the same process for Nintendo Wiki, but it's usually considered kind of bad form to do such a thing that would be making hundreds of edits and flood Recent Wiki Activity with an account that's not set up as a bot at a given wiki.

Native names

I am a total newcomer here, but the lack of names in people/games' countries of origin seems pretty strange to me. 岩田聡 for Satoru Iwata, どうぶつの森 for Animal Crossing series, things like that. Is this intentional? Seems like something that would be a good addition to infobox templates.

Heyo! From the Splatoon Wikia!

Hello, I'm one of the admins from the Splatoon Wikia? I was just wondering if we were still partnered with you guys? We have this thing on the bottom on our Wikia with your name on it, and we were just wondering if we should keep it there. Y'know.
I dunno. I would like to speak to one of your admins for an answer.
Thank you. <3
