Animaniacs(JP) is a video game released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy based on the Warner Bros. animated television series with the same name. It was developed and published by Konami.

Plot[]

The game's plot is slightly different between versions.

In the Super NES version, Pinky and the Brain set forth on their latest plan for world domination, which involves stealing a movie script from the Warner Bros. studio and producing it themselves. Thaddeus Plotz reluctantly has to call upon Yakko, Wakko and Dot to retrieve all 24 pages of the stolen script.

In the Game Boy version (which is oddly based on the Sega Genesis version rather than the SNES one), the Warners plan to open a pop-culture shop and wander about the studio lot to gather props for the shop. However, after they have gathered all the necessary memorabilia, Pinky and the Brain show up to steal said memorabilia so they can use them to brainwash people.

Gameplay[]

The player controls either Yakko, Wakko, or Dot, and can switch between them depending on the situation. The game involves general platforming as well as occasional puzzle solving.

Trivia[]

  • Playing the Game Boy version on a Super Game Boy allows the game to use the 16-bit soundtrack from the Sega Genesis version.
