Armos are statues in The Legend of Zelda series who were built to guard certain areas that contain valuable items. In all there seem to be two different types of Armos, including the standard ones and the Armos Knights, the latter being more challenging than the former, though are more sparse.
The statues will for most of their lives be motionless until a living being disturbs them, where they'll then start hoping toward their opposition trying to attack. They are easily defeated by shooting an arrow or two at their eye. The Wind Waker's Armos Knights, however, can only be defeated by planting a bomb in their mouth, after which they'll go crazy and explode.
It should also be noted that some Armos statues will not awaken, though just stay motionless for an unknown reason.
- It has been speculated that the design of the Armos from The Wind Waker is based on Wario.
