Astro Man (Mega Man)

Astro Man.

Astro Man is a robot master who debuted in Mega Man 8. He made a reappearance in Mega Man & Bass.

Character[]

Biography[]

Astro Man started his life as a planetarium robot, but Doctor Wily reprogrammed him for combat. Astro Man uses his powers to confuse his foes, attacks with the orbs surrounding him, and summons meteors with his Astro Crush skill.

Personality[]

Astro Man has a modest personality while being somewhat very shy towards others. He's easily startled and is something of a coward, thus not being very reliable in battle. In addition to this, he is known to be the world champion at hide-and-seek. Astro Man likes wishing upon stars in his spare time but has dislikes for both cheap humor and old gags.

Physical Appearance[]

Astro Man resembles a man in a green suit and a black screen for eyes. His lower half is inside a half-turquoise half-black ball, with a door that he can use to get in on the top. His hands are black balls with yellow fingers. On his head is a yellow antenna that can spin, similar to an anemometer.

Astro Man's Weapon[]

Astro Man has the Astro Crush skill in both his appearances. Rock can get his hands on the former in Mega Man 8. Both can summon fireballs that rain down on the battlefield. In Mega Man & Bass, Astro Man also has the ability to create duplicates to fight by his side. Rock gets this in the form of Copy Vision, which generates a copy that acts as a turret.

Mega Man 8[]

Stage[]

Astro Man makes his lair in Norway, more specifically one of Norway's planetariī, turning it into his stage. Here, Rock has to watch his footing during the platforming segments and climb quickly in the sinking tower, lest he be automatically KO'ed at the bottom. Sometimes, there is a maze that must be navigated: one between the first platforming section and the tower, and another between the second platforming section and the boss area.

Battle[]

Astro Man can cause his smaller balls to circle a certain point and fire shots at the player. He can also dive and teleport, summoning a meteor storm with his Astro Crush. His weakness, the Homing Sniper, will lock onto him (or more likely his ship), causing him to freak out and preventing him from moving. Astro Man's defeat yields his Astro Crush as a prize for Rock.
