BIT.TRIP BEAT is a WiiWare video game released in 2009. The game is a paddle game that has the player keep with the beat while hitting the balls that come racing towards it. If you miss a ball, your "health" will go down. If your health reaches zero, you will be given a chance to revive yourself, though doing so will be challenging.

A free demo version of the game was released in North America on November 16, 2009.

Gameplay

The game's paddle is controlled by twisting the Wii Remote (which is held on its side). Twisting upwards will cause the paddle to go up, and conversely twisting downwards will cause it to go down. Beats will start coming from the right side of the screen, and your goal is to make sure you hit every single one. As you progress through the game the Beats will come at a rapid pace, and hitting them will become a challenge.

There are three levels of progress, depending on how well you do - in decreasing order, they are Mega, Hyper, and Nether. You begin at Hyper, and can either progress up toward the next level by hitting Beats or progress down to lower levels by missing Beats - each with their own meters showing how far to rising/falling. Progressing up past Mega increases your multiplier, while falling below Nether will cause a Game Over. Falling into Nether will also cause the game to take on a staticky, black and white look, with the only sound coming from the Wii Remote's speaker.
