Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!/Donkey Kong Land III
Barbos makes her first appearance as a boss in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! in the world Razor Ridge. Barbos appears in a blood-red lake as an underwater boss and Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong can only fight Barbos if they transform into Enguarde.
Barbos first attacks Enguarde by sending out Lurchins to attack him. Enguarde can simply attack Barbos by charging the Lurchins when they open up at Barbos. Afterwards, Barbos will then advance to a lower level and shoot spiky missiles at Enguarde into the spike balls protecting Barbos. Afterwards, Enguarde must charge into Barbos. After Enguarde hits Barbos, Barbos will go down another level and shoot her spikes at Enguarde and Enguarde must charge into Barbos and Barbos will fall down another level and Enguarde must repeat this step and attack Barbos once again to defeat her. After this, Barbos will fall down another floor and release a Bonus Coin. Despite Barbos being defeated, Enguarde may still be attacked.
In the Game Boy Advance port, Barbos is relocated in Pacifica instead of Razor Ridge with a new boss called Kroctopus taking Barbos's place. Barbos also needs to be attacked four times instead of five times in this port.
Barbos reappears in Donkey Kong Land III as the boss of Cape Codswallop and she has no additional changes, except that they stay on only one floor and Barbos must be attacked three times in order to be defeated.
