The Boomerang is a popular weapon used in the Legend of Zelda series. In the earlier games that it appeared in, it would stun the enemy it touched, letting Link go up for close combat without having to worry. In the 3-D Zelda games, you are able to aim it, and also attack multiple enemies or targets at once, allowing Link to solve previously unsolvable puzzles.
A boomerang is also the weapon of choice for a Boomerang Bro.
