Candy Kong is a character in the Donkey Kong series and the beautiful girlfriend of the iconic Donkey Kong, as well as being the actual first female "Kong" in the series. Although she is not a major protagonist, she is a supportive reappearing character in the series. In the first game she appears in, Donkey Kong Country, she manages Candy's Save Point where the heroes Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong can save their progress.

Candy Kong does not appear in the rest of the Donkey Kong Country games, but does appear in the Game Boy Advance remakes of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!.

In Donkey Kong 64, Candy runs a music shop of her own, which is called "Candy's Music Shop". The instruments that she sells to the protagonists are important to the story, so it can be concluded that she contributed more to this game than she did to the other canon games.

She also appears in both DK: King of Swing and DK: Jungle Climber as a supportive character again.

Candy Kong once again appears in the latest Donkey Kong spin off, Donkey Kong Bongo Blast. In that game, she manages Candy's Challenges, where the player has to complete a set of challenges for her.

Super Smash Bros. series

Candy Kong appears as a collectible trophy in the Wii video game Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Trophy description

"Donkey Kong's rumored girlfriend--although nobody is quite sure if the rumor is true. With Candy's looks and elegance, she would be quite the catch. There's a mode in Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast where Donkey Kong must compete according to Candy's requests. Candy is also known to have run a music shop."

Other Media

Candy Kong appears in the cartoon series of Donkey Kong Country, though her look is very different the same concept is applied that she is Donkey Kong's girlfriend. Yet there is a difference about her portrayal in the cartoons, her personality in the cartoons is a lot different since she's pretty tempermental and slightly more tomboyish than how she's portrayed in the games.
