Carock is a character in Zelda II: Adventure of Link, where he was a powerful sorcerer whose duty was to guard the Maze Palace. He is capable of generating and controlling magic which he uses in his battle against Link. Once defeated, Link would then be able to place the key into the statue that Carock was protecting, thus completing that dungeon. In order to defeat Carock, you need the reflect spell, to reflect his powerful magic back at him, a common tactic found in most Zelda video games.
