Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (JP) is a game for the Nintendo Entertainment System released in 1988. It is the second installment in the popular series and often regarded as one of the worst in the franchise. The game is criticized for its day to night transition, in which it pauses the entire game to change the visuals while showing a text box.
Trivia
- Simon's Quest was awarded "Best Graphics and Sound" in the 1988 Nintendo Power Awards.
- The game was also featured on the controversial cover of the second issue of Nintendo Power magazine back in 1988 depicting Dracula's severed head.
- Simon's Quest was featured the first episode of The Angry Video Game Nerd. In the series, the Nerd considers it his least favorite game of all time. The game was revisited in an episode where he reviews the entire Castlevania series.
