It is the final evolution of Charmander. Charizard can mega evolve into either Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y with Charizardite X and Charizardite Y respectively. The former trades his Flying type for Dragon while the Y form remains the same.

Super Smash Bros. series
Charizard has been featured in every Smash Bros. video game to date, though in the first two games he was nothing more than a creature that would be released from a Poké Ball. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, he makes his playable debut as a summon for the Pokémon Trainer, where you'll be able to control him, among Squirtle and Ivysaur. His final smash in this game is Triple Finish where he, Squirtle and Ivysaur each use their strongest moves to destroy the other opponents.
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, Charizard has a new redesigned moveset, now separate from the Pokémon Trainer.
Attacks
Charizard is a fairly powerful character with his attacks being sort of slow but dealing massive damage.
- Neutral Special: Flamethrower
- Side Special: Rock Smash (in Brawl)/ Flare Blitz (in 3DS/ Wii U)
- Up Special: Fly
- Down Special: Pokémon Change (in Brawl)/ Rock Smash (in 3DS/ Wii U)
