Clu Clu Land is a video game released on the NES in 1984. It stars the red, sphere-like protagonist Bubbles, who gets around by grabbing poles, swinging around them, then letting go to change directions. There was port to the e-Reader called Clu Clu Land-e.

Gameplay

The objective of the game is to guide Bubbles around a watery maze to collect all of the treasures that await her finding. The most important items in the game are the golden ingots, which are required to progress through it. You also must the avoid Uniras, who hid and are trying to defend the gold. You can shoot shock waves with the A or B button, which can stun the Uniras and then allow you to crush them against of the walls. Occasionally, items such as fruit and clocks will appear when you cross a certain spot.

Remakes/Ports

This game was also remade for the Vs. System as Vs. Clu Clu Land, and that game was later released on the Famicom Disk System. In the Gamecube version of Animal Crossing, both the normal and the Disk System versions are playable, using one of the respective NES items. Besides the loosely-related DK: King of Swing games, there hasn't been a real sequel.
