The Dark Tallon Metroid are Ing-possessed Tallon Metroids that mutated to become powerful Darklings soldiers that are resistant to Dark Aether's very corrosive atmosphere.

Behavior[]

Compared to regular Metroid Larvae, the Dark Tallon Metroid has a thick carapace recovering its membrane. Said membrane seems to be the Ing itself as it featuresits orange eye on the center of it. The Dark Tallon Metroid also has five fangs instead of the usual three regular Metroid Larvae have. Their main method of attack is unchanged and it will still try to grip their prey with their fangs before starting to absorb their life force. The Dark Tallon Metroid is more durable than regular Metroid Larvae but they retain the weakness of both the Ing and the Metroid, which means that they can be easily killed by both Ice using a charge shot with the Dark Beam and the Light Beam. They are also smarter than regular Metroids thanks to their Ing symbiote and were shown being able to keep some of their victims, mainly Space Pirates, barely alive in a pile to feed on them once they regain some forces.

The Ing are fascinated by Metroids and their connection to Phazon. It is not a shared fascination, as the Metroids will attack the Ing on sight. Recognizing their strength, Ing darklings have possessed a number of Metroids, turning them into powerful soldiers of the Horde.
