Deku Scrubs are a species in The Legend of Zelda series, debuting in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Like the Snifits from the Mario series, they shoot at the player. However, when cornered they will surrender, after which they will sometimes sell something or provide secrets. In The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Link is turned into a Deku Scrub at the start of the game, becoming Deku Link. Deku Scrubs are able to hover for awhile using the leaves sprouting out of their heads as a propeller. They live in Deku Pods and use them to launch themselves into the air. They fire Deku Nuts.
