Deku Shrub

Deku Shrubs are a species in the Legend of Zelda series, beginning in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Like snifits, they shoot at the player. However, when cornered they will surrender, after which they will sell something or provide secrets. A boy turned into a Deku Shrub, later revealed to be Skull Kid, is seen in the Lost Woods in Ocarina of Time, playing Sora's Song. In Majora's Mask, Link is turned into a Deku at the start of the game, becoming Deku Link. Deku Shrubs are able to hover for awhile using the leaves sprouting out of their heads as a propeller. They live in Deku Pods and use them to launch themselves into the air. They fire Deku Nuts. They sell the nuts and Deku Sticks. Late in Ocarina of Time, Deku Shrubs are simple enemies who can be killed and will not sell any items.
