Distant Planet is a stage in the Wii video game Super Smash Bros. Brawl that supposedly takes place on the Pikmin series which is considered by fans to be Earth. This stage reappears in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U to represent the series.

Stage Elements[]

The stage's main attributes includes one main platform. Three leaf platforms rest above it that lower when someone steps on it, and a slope is found to the left. Occasionally it'll start to rain, which will cause the slope to the left to be very slippery, thus making it hard to get back up.

Every once and a while a Bulborb will arrive to the right of the stage, which will for a time act as another platform, completely ignoring the characters standing on it, though will eventually start gobbling the players as the species did in the video games. Pikmin onions and Pellet Posies will appear on the stages as well. Players can actually attack the pellets and throw them at onions to get an item. There are some plants on this stage like Common Glowcaps, Clovers, Margarets, Shoots, and Figworts and a few Burgeoning Spiderwort.

Origin[]

Distant Planet is the planet in which the Pikmin games take place on, which is assumed to be Earth. In the first game, this is where Olimar crashed landed and eventually found the endangered Pikmin species. In the background, Olimar can see Red Bulborbs and Cloaking Burrow-nits, the former of which often causes havoc on the stage. Pellets and Onions also appear on the stage as well, both from Pikmin and Pikmin 2. The can in the background supports the theory Pikmin is situated on Earth, and has a Super Smash Bros. logo on it. The can is supposed to be the Utter Scrap, a Pikmin 2 Treasure.
