BS Detective Club: Lost Memories in the Snow (JP) is a Detective Club video game released on the Super Famicom's Satellaview. There are three episodes in the game, each being broadcast at different times. After the game's initial broadcastings, they were rebroadcast over the following months. Like the games before it, Lost Memories in the Snow is a text-based game. It is a pseudo-sequel to the earlier Famicom Disk System game, Famicom Tantei Club: Kieta Kōkeisha that was released in April 1988, and its follow-up, Famicom Tantei Club Part II: Ushiro ni Tatsu Shōjo, released for FDS in 1989. More modern re-releases of these games came out in Japan for Game Boy Advance and the Wii Virtual Console in 2004 and 2007 respectively.
Gameplay[]
BS Tantei Club is a detective story that was broadcast in 3 parts (an uncommon breakdown compared to the normal 4-part and less common 2-part SoundLink games). The game is a text-based point-and-click-style adventure game where still images are presented to the player and the player may guide a hand-shaped icon around the screen to select objects in the image to investigate further. A number of icons in a side-bar present the player with options such as taking notes, speaking, or placing telephone calls. Similar gameplay was used in other games from the FDS era including the popular Shadowgate (1989).
