Botwoon was a mini-boss enemy in the classic Metroid title Super Metroid for the SNES. It is a large dragon-like creature who waited in a tunnel for its opponent, Samus Aran to come. The only weak spot of Botwoon was its head, which Samus Aran would easily be able to shoot at with her weapons.
When defeated, Samus would obtain no new items or weapons, though she was then able to progress through her adventure to get to the main Maridia boss Draygon.
