Cranky's Cabin is a location ran by Cranky in the Donkey Kong series.

Games[]

Donkey Kong Country[]

Cranky's Cabin first appears as a location run by Cranky. Here, he rambles on about how gaming was better his days, etc. In-between his rambling, he gives level tips to Donkey and Diddy. Despite the location, every single area has this location in a jungle-themed area. This location is found all across Donkey Kong Island, except for Gangplank Galleon.

At the end of the game, Cranky asks the monkeys if they have visited every single Bonus Area in the game. He congratulates the two and tells them that the Banana Hoard has been filled with bananas again.

In the background of this area, a giant banana, a Nintendo logo, shovels, barrels, a Rambi crate and a handheld system-like object can be found.

In the Game Boy Advance version, the location has been redesigned and renamed "Cranky's Hut". In this version, this location takes place indoors. Here, Sabre Wulf's head is mounted and he occasionally blinks, meaning he is still alive. A TV flashing, a picture with the characters from Sabre Wulf,[1] Mumbo Jumbo's mask, a tipped over Mine Cart and some Barrels can be found. The giant banana is removed, but the Nintendo logo is located behind a barrel.

Donkey Kong Land[]

While it doesn't appear in-game, it is mentioned in the manual of Donkey Kong Land. This is where Donkey and Diddy make their bet with Cranky that they cannot complete the game on an 8-bit system.

Diddy Kong Pilot (2003 build)[]

Cranky's Cabin reappears in the 2003 build of Diddy Kong Pilot in the background of where Cranky is sitting. This location has only the giant banana, a Barrel and the Nintendo logo in the background. The location is also made out of a barrel.
