800px-Elevator (Ocarina of Time) — The Elevator in *Ocarina of Time*.

Elevators are recurring objects in the The Legend of Zelda series. In most cases they are powered by magic and are able raise and lower Link into floors of a dungeon.

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link[]

Elevators allow Link to travel from one floor to another, from either above or below, when he enters it. They are usually found in Palaces, but they are also found on Death Mountain.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time[]

There is only one elevator in the entire game, and it is found in the Forest Temple. It leads down to the temple's basement were Phantom Gannon is faught. The elevator is powered by four magic flames which are stolen by the four Poe Sisters when Link first enters the room. He will not be able to use the elevator until he has tracked down and defeated the Poe Sisters, and relighted the torches.
