Gameplay[]
F-1 Race is similar to the Namco video game Pole Position. While racing, the up and down buttons on the d-pad will alter the gears (hi and low), while left and right will accordingly make the vehicle move left and right. A is the acceleration button, while B is the break. Pressing both buttons at the same time make the car go into cruise control. There are ten levels (circuits) in all, evenly distributed in two skill levels. Each level has a set time limit to finish the course.
