DK Isles is a global map of Donkey Kong series referring to chain of islands from Donkey Kong Island waters.

History[]

The DK Island serves as coordinates to these islands, including: Banana Fairy Island, Sun Sun Island and Secret Seclusion. The term gets used in Donkey Kong 64.

However, the background of second game menu screen showing map include other island, such as Crocodile Isle, ruled by King K. Rool to accidentally disappear from the map for Diddy and Dixie.

In third game, the small archipelago seems to be swimming distance north of Northern Kremisphere considered a location in itself, many feel that it's actually a territory of DK Isles.

In the DK: Jungle Climber and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, exists other islands near or far of DK Isles.

Revelated in Donkey Kong '94, Donkey Kong Land and Super Mario Odyssey that this archipelago is located far in coast from New Donk City. Until K. Rool and his minions have his hideout in this city.[1][2]

Kong Isle
Kong Isle (also known as Donkey Kong Island, DK Island and Donkey Kong Country) is a tropical island inhabited by Kongs who always play an important role in relation to Donkey Kong for their adventures and participations.

The most striking feature of the island is the huge mountain in the shape of a gorilla's head located in the center where there is a cave inside. The geography around it is covered with tropical jungles, ruins, pine forest, rocky hills, glacier at the top, desert and a beach.

In Donkey Kong games, this island is the target of covetousness due to its natural preservation and the Banana Hoard that is guarded in DK's Treehouse. Routinely the island always has issues with the Kremlings from the fact that they want to get hold of the bananas from hoard and destroy it, the Tiki Tak Tribe resurface from the volcano to create an army of Tikis and the Snowmads usurp the island until it is taken back.

KongoJungle 1
Kongo Jungle
Kongo Jungle (also known as Jungle,[3] Jungle Japes and Jungle World) is a huge jungle full of palm trees, banana trees, plants, hills, tunnels, seaside, canyon, small temple ruins, flowers and waterfalls.

Here it serves as the Kong Family's home where their residences are built here and several Kongs live.

Monkey Mines Monkey Mines (also known as Ruins[3]) is a mining excavated by the Kremling Krew in a ancient civilization which was hidden on jungle.[4][5]

The intention in this mining is to find ore until it is abandoned by the Kremling Krew.[6] But some members could not come out of the mines turned in rocks and controlled by an unknown force.[7][8][9]

These levels take place in the ruins of ancient civilizations that have been hidden away in a jungle. While you face several of the same enemies as you did in the previous worlds, you also face stilts, Toothberries, and Acks. As you travel though these ruins, look for hidden areas and pound on containders to get items. If you see a vine hanging from a statue head, jump up and grab it to pull on it. This will always cause something interesting to happen.

All the tools of the miners remain, however, from mine carts to rickety scaffolding. There are special barrels that turn the lights on and off, and risky mine elevators full of slag. Without a hard hat, mine exploration is not recommended, but Klump is not about to give up his!"

When the lights in the cave glow green, the RockKrocs go crazy. They run back and forth with their arms outstretched, looking for something to grab. The only way to shut them down is to make the lights glow red. Doing so entails touching the Stop & Go Barrels as you move through the stage.

They appear in only a few corners of Kong Island. Rock Krocs run around in a crazed rampage when the cave is lit green. Activate Stop & Go Barrels in levels that the stony beasts populate to change the level's lighting to red-the Rock Krocs will become temporarily immobilized.
  9. Donkey Kong Country Nintendo Player's Guide, Nintendo, 1994, p. 19 - STOP & GO STATION: This fast-paced stage is full of terror. Terror in the form of RockKrocs, thas is! With their red glowing eyes and highly erratic movements, they are probably the most frightful creatures on the island! There's an easy way to calm them down, though. Just hit the Stop & Go Barrels so they read STOP. That tells the RockKrocs what to do. They're pretty stupid. Keep hitting the Stop & Go Barrels because they quickly change back to GO.
