Hornoads are creatures that first appeared in Metroid II: Return of Samus on the Game Boy. They later appeared in Metroid Fusion, where they were transported from SR388 to the Biologic Space Labs. However, the entire species was presumably destroyed when both the planet and the lab was destroyed.
The Hornoad was seen in the Metroid Zero Mission manga as the first creature seen by the Chozo to be infected and copied by the X Parasite.
They're purple creatures with two blue legs. They sort of resemble toads, hence their unique jumping abilities and their name.
