King Guardia XXXIII is the ruler of the Kingdom of Guardia in 1000 A.D. in Chrono Trigger. He is the 33rd King of Guardia and the descendant of King Guardia XXI and Queen Leene. Princess Nadia (also known as Marle) is his tomboy daughter, who he has trouble controlling.
Biography[]
The Trial[]
Marle decides to barge into Crono's kidnapping trial in the Courtroom at Guardia Castle, so the King enters the Courtroom to put a stop to her antics.
Later, when Marle helps Crono and Lucca escape the Castle, King Guardia tries to change Marle's mind about leaving, but fails. He watches his daughter run away.
The Rainbow Shell[]
The Chancellor accuses King Guardia XXXIII of selling the Rainbow Shell for his own personal gain. So he rigs a trial and attempts to overthrown the King so he can rule the Kingdom of Guardia for himself. But when Crono and his party discovers the secret plot, Marle returns to the Courtroom with evidence that the Shell is still in Guardia Castle. The Chancellor then reveals himself to be Yakra XIII in disguise.
After the battle, the real Chancellor is found locked away in a treasure chest and the bond between Marle and her father is mended.
