Mario NSMBW

Artwork of Super Mario in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

Not to be confused with Mario.

Super Mario is Mario's most well-known form, and is the most common form he assumes in the Super Mario Bros. games. Mario grows into Super Mario after obtaining a Super Mushroom, after which, a different power-up will appear instead (In the original Super Mario Bros., Super Mario could only grab a Fire Flower, but in Super Mario Bros. 3, many different power-ups appear). Super Mario was twice the size of Small Mario, and he also had an extra hit point, allowing him to endure another hit, but turning him back into Small Mario in the process. Super Mario can also crouch in order to avoid hazards slightly above him, an ability Small Mario couldn't do until Super Mario World. Super Mario is also strong enough to break regular Brick Blocks.
