Mark Haigh-Hutchinson was a video game programmer who worked on a variety of titles, including the Metroid Prime series at Retro Studios.
History[]
Born in England, Haigh-Hutchinson worked on various companies, such as Arctic Software, Vortex Software, Tiertex and LucasArts, where he assisted in the development of several hit titles such as Paperboy and a few Star Wars titles.
He eventually moved to Austin, Texas and joined Retro Studios where he was involved with all the original Metroid Prime series including Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Most notoriously, he developed the camera system for the series.
Mark Haigh-Hutchinson passed away in 2008 from pancreatic cancer. Retro Studios and Nintendo honored him by dedicating Metroid Prime Trilogy to him.
