MissingNo. (JP) is one of the many glitch Pokémon in Pokémon Red and Blue games that can be found by a combination of events. It can cause many bad or good things to happen.

There are actually 39 Pokémon with this name in the first generation games, occupying index numbers between valid Pokémon.

How to catch MissingNo.[]

In order to catch MissingNo. the player must perform a series of in-game events. First, they must go to Viridian City and watch the old man perform a Pokémon capture. Next, they should go to Cinnabar Island and Surf alongside it until they find MissingNo. and capture it.

The effects of MissingNo.[]

MissingNo. causes a lot of in-game events. If the player come in contact with MissingNo., it may freeze their game and corrupt their graphics. It also increases the sixth item in the player's bag by 128. It will also permanently glitch their hall of fame record.

Description[]

The Poké-Glitch Missingno. has six Forms as seen in Pokémon Red and Blue, Pokémon Red and Green, Pokémon Yellow, and Pokémon Stadium.The first one, is the backward "L", the most common. The form can be seen in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl only with the use of an Action Replay and using the cheat to walk on water.

Its second form is similar to the Ghosts found in the Lavender Tower before obtaining the Silph Scope. It appears only if a lowercase 'y' is found in the third, fifth, or seventh slot of the Player's Name.

The third form is similar to the Aerodactyl fossil found in Pewter City's museum. It's obtainable if a lowercase 'x' is found in the third, fifth, or seventh slot of the Player's name.

The fourth form is the Kabutops fossil found in the Pewter museum as well. It appears if there's a lowercase 'w' is present in the third, fifth, or seventh slot of the Player's name.

The fifth form is a glitched up mess that uses Pikachu's pallet and can only be found in Pokémon Yellow.

The final form is the Rhydon doll that is the same as the one as seen when the move Substitute is used in battle, and can only be found as a result of trading MissingNo. into Pokémon Stadium.

Up to this date, MissingNo. does not appear in any games in the 5th Generation of Pokémon.
