"not real"

Morpha appears in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It is the boss of the Water Temple and is known as The Master of the Water Temple. Link has to grab its nucleus with his Hookshot which allows him to hit it with his sword. After it is defeated, the nucleus bursts into drops of water, and the water drains from the temple and goes into the roof making a Blue Warp allowing Link to leave the Water Temple.

Battle[]

When Link first enters the Water Temple boss room, he receives a warning that the water in the room's central pool is not normal water. To make Morpha appear, he has to jump onto one of the four platforms in the pool. Its primary means of attack involves creating massive watery tendrils. When Morpha's nucleus swims in circles and numerous bubbles and ripples form, or the sound of bubbling water followed by what sounds like an alien spaceship is heard, it's creating a tendril. Morpha starts with one tendril, but begins to conjure more as the battle progresses. If Link gets too close to a tendril, it grabs him, swings him around, then throws him into one of the walls, inflicting a moderate amount of damage.

Morpha often comes out of the water to attack. Link must use his Longshot to pull the nucleus to him and slash it with his sword. If he falls into the pool, Morpha immediately begins to aggressively attack him, because it is not affected by the water. A faster and easier way to defeat Morpha is to trap its nucleus in one of the four corners, where Link can repeatedly attack it and the tendrils can't get him.
