Sootopolis City is a fictional city in the Pokémon series located in the Hoenn region and appeared in the third generation games. It is an ancient city located inside of an extinct volcano. Until very recently, it's people were completely isolated from the outside world. Other than using a flying Pokémon or a helicopter, the only way into the city is through an underwater cave. The people of Sootopolis all share a strong connection with Water type Pokémon, which have been a part of their lives for 3,000 years.
