Super Star Wars is a 2-D side scroller game released to the SNES, based on the Star Wars series. It was produced by LucasArts. It is based on the core story of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, and stars Luke Skywalker as he sets out to become a Jedi and save Princess Leia from the evil Galactic Empire and Defeat his father Darth Vader Luke is assisted by R2-D2, C-3PO, Chewbacca, Han Solo, and Princess Leia.

The game was later re-released on the Wii Virtual Console in North America on August 10, 2009.

Reception[]

In the Super Power Club bonus supplement in Nintendo Power V44, the game was ranked #4 in the Top 10 Super NES Games of 1992.

Sequels[]

Two sequels were created: The Empire Strikes Back and Super Return of the Jedi. Both were released to the SNES and later re-released on the Wii Virtual Console in North America on August 24, 2009 and September 7, 2009 respectively.
