Morgan Freeman sings a song about his life. Backing singers - Chris Scullion (me), Russell Brand, The Undertaker and Rapunzel from Disney's Tangled. This is from Tomodachi Life, an upcoming 3DS game which is batshit crazy. Click 'show more' for FAQ.
Is this a viral stunt? No.
Then how did you get this game early? I'm a games journalist for CVG.co.uk and received a review copy of the game on Friday.
Isn't it embargoed? Whereas Nintendo (and other big publishers) usually put embargoes on game content, heavily restricting any screenshots or videos of the game before a certain date, this isn't the case with Tomodachi. Instead, Nintendo has told press they are free to share as many screenshots and videos as they like in the hope Tomodachi will gain popularity before release. In this case, I think it deserves it, so I'll be doing more if there's enough demand in the comments.
How does this singing thing even work? What level of customisation do you have? There are a number of different song styles you can unlock and 'gift' to your Miis. When you choose a song style the melody is set for you and you're shown the entire list of lyrics. You can then tap a line and change the words. You can change them to whatever you like (no swearing though), but the results are generally better if the number of syllables is the same as the default line because it fits the song better (that's why the second line sounds rushed... too many syllables)
Is Morgan Freeman in the game?! No. There are no Miis in the game, you have to add your own or get them via StreetPass. So Morgan Freeman is a Mii I imported into the game (same with the backing dancers).
Why does he have a British accent? This is the European version of the game - the English language speech synthesis in this version has a generic British (specifically English) accent. I don't have the North American version, but I understand the accents in that are American.
I have more questions. If you'd like to ask me any questions about the game at all, tweet me a question at @Scully1888
