Prime Invader Zoda is the main antagonist of the StarTropics series, being one of the few characters who appeared in both StarTropics and Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II in which he appears as the titular villain. He is a horned, shadowy alien who wishes to find the Three Magic Cubes, only to be thwarted by Mike Jones. He destroyed the planet Argonia and is trying to finish off the remaining Argonians which are Mica and her siblings. He is finally destroyed by Mike in Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II, thus bringing the world to peace.

In the original StarTropics, the player fights Zoda twice, once in his "Zoda Manifest" form and another in his "Prime Invader Zoda" form, which is the second to last and final boss of the game, respectively. The Laser Gun is the only thing potent enough to damage Zoda Manifest, who uses his large hands and eyeballs to attack Mike Jones. After defeating Manifest, he'll reveal a more menacing form and flee into the depths of the ship where the player will have to progress to fight him. In his Prime Invader form, he spits out Zoda Spawn which chase after Mike while shooting bullets. If the player is touched by Prime Invader Zoda once, they'll lose a life.
In Zoda's revenge you'll fight three of Zoda's clones. The player meets Zoda-X in Chapter 4 at the Museum where he takes the Tetrad and flees into the sewers. His attacks involve generating pillars of flame surrounding Mike and shooting skulls out in a spread, upon his defeat, he transforms into his Prime Invader Form from the first game, but dies as soon as he does.
Zoda-Y is responsible for petrifying Da Vinci in Chapter 6 and the player encounters him in the ruins at the end of the Chapter where he sends Mike to Transylvania (Chapter 7). Zoda-Y has 2 forms, the first form has the same armor as Zoda-X and fires bullets while releasing bats at Mike. Upon taking enough damage, he reveals his true form which is a cross between an owl and a moth, his true form still fires off bats but now also flaps his wings which releases feathers that can damage Mike and pushes him back towards the spikes at the back of the room.
Zoda-Z is the final boss and is fought in the last chapter, he is responsible for turning the C-Islanders into boars before running off into the depths of the island. He has 3 forms, and is fought after re-fighting every boss at the end, including the Zoda-X and Y rematches. His first form are 5 Zoda spawn (4 Blue, 1 Purple) that will shoot bullets at Mike, destroying the different colored one reveals a purple armored version of Zoda, he will fire off scattered bullets and 4 large ones that will turn Mike into a Boar, rendering him incapable of attacking until it wears off. His final form is a giant hulking bipedal purple alien with a tail and horns. He retains his attacks from his second form but has 3 new attacks, he spins which renders him invulnerable from all attacks while damaging Mike if hit, generating pillars of flame that travel across the room horizontally, as well as releasing bolts of lightning which release sparks that scatter when they strike.
