Gabumon is a rookie level, data type and beast attribute Digimon that first appeared on the Playstation 1 Game Digimon World while it's first appearence on a Nintendo console was Digimon Battle Spirit. It's name and design are based off of "Gabu Kashira" (がぶ頭?), a Kabuki puppet whose face instantly changes from that of a timid maiden to a horned fiend with the pull of a string. It wears a fur pelt, and when it takes it off it acts differently.
They are usually shy like Matt's Gabumon in the anime, who plays a important role.
Gabumon digivolves from Tsunomon if level 7 and can digivolve further into Garurumon. He can be found at Data Forest if Tsunomon was your chosen partner at the beginning of the game.Kazuya, in the opening, has a Gabumon he introduces to the player. An NPC Gabumon works at the shop next to Wizarmon in DigiCentral, selling weapons, armors, and accessories.
