The Gale Boomerang is an item found in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Wii and GameCube. It is a unique type of boomerang that has the ability to generate whirl winds. This will help you solve particular puzzles in the game. For example, if you spot a windmill of some sort, then you'll be able to toss the boomerang at it. The whirlwind will cause the windmill to spin, and the puzzle will be solved.
The Gale Boomerang later appeared in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii, replacing the Boomerang from previous installments of the game. It would act the same way as it did in Twilight Princess, and would spin your opponents in the air. It will also bring items back to you.
