A redesigned version of the original Game Boy having the same features, but smaller and lighter. Other improvements included a sharp monochrome screen with none of the blurring that plagued the original model and a reduced hunger for batteries. The Pocket took 2 AAA batteries instead of 4 AA batteries.The Game Boy Light, sold in Japan only, was essentially a variant that also had an independently lit screen. The Pocket was superseded by the Game Boy Color.
