Golden Axe is a beat 'em up video game developed and published by Sega. Originally released for the arcades in 1989 and later ported to other gaming platforms mainly the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. Both the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and Arcade version were later re-released for the Wii Virtual Console.
