Goombella is a Goomba archaeology student who befriends Mario in the game Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for the GameCube. At the beginning of the game, Goombella is attacked by Lord Crump and his army. So Mario comes to save her, and she joins his party. She is also the first member to join his party.

She has a very great knowledge of Rogueport and the lands around it, she knows almost everyone and can give you information on enemies by using her key ability, Tattle. This move will not only give info on the enemy, but also stats on it as well.

She appears as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
