Guru-Guru is a recurring character in the The Legend of Zelda seres. He is often seen playing a phonograph. While he is normally mild-mannered and is a cheerful man, when he becomes agitated, his face warps into a distorted view of his usual expression and the speed of his phonograph increases. He is associated with the "Song of Storms", the song that his instrument plays in all of his appearances.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Guru-Guru is found in the Windmill Hut in Kakariko Village playing the "Song of Storms" on his phonograph. When Link is a child, Guru-Guru is trying to come up with a theme inspired by the Windmill, but when Link comes to the Windmill Hut as an adult, Guru-Guru is upset because of a child who came to the Windmill Hut and played a song that had messed up the windmill. After taking out the ocarina, Guru-Guru is reminded of the child who messed up the Windmill Hut and teaches Link the "Song of Storms". After successfully learning the song, the Windmill starts rapidly spinning, further upsetting Guru-Guru. If Link plays the "Song of Storms" to Guru-Guru as a child, the Windmill will cause the well to drain.
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Employed by the Gorman Troupe, Guru-Guru is a musician for the Rosa Sisters. During the day he is seen playing his phonograph in the room of the Troupe. However, during the night, he is seen near the Laundry Pool, due to the fact the Gorman Troupe kicked him out due to the volume of the phonograph. If Link talks to Guru-Guru by the Laundry Pool, he will retell the tale of his youth. He tells how he was a member of an animal troupe, aside from the fact he disliked the troupe's leader, a dog. Guru-Guru got jealous and stole the mask that the troupe leader possessed. After confessing the crime, Guru-Guru gives Link the Bremen Mask.
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
Guru-Guru is found playing his phonograph near the Windmill in the Eastern Suburbs. If Link gives him Engine Grease to grease the Windmill, he will give Link the phonograph as thanks. This is part of the quest for the Noble Sword.
