Hit the Ice is a sports game (focused on ice hockey) for the Game Boy. It was only released in North America. A Super NES version was also released, but the NES version was canceled.
Gameplay
The game can be played by one or two players. There are three game modes: Championship, VS. Play and Shot Race. Championship is a tournament against the other teams. VS. Play is an exhibition game. The player is the Reds and the computer is the Blues. Finally, Shot Race is different from the other two options. A maximum number of goals is set and the player to score that many goals first is the winner. Fighting is also available during the hockey games.
As in the real-world sport of hockey, the object is to score more goals than the opposing team to win the game.
