The Impact Crater is a location in Metroid Prime, and the final area in the game. The crater is named so because a Leviathan from Phaaze crashed onto the planet Tallon IV, spreading Phazon throughout the planet. The Chozo constructed a temple, known as the Artifact Temple, above the crater, to contain the Phazon, though they only succeeded in slowing the spread. The crater collapses after Samus Aran defeats Metroid Prime.

The Impact Crater is a relatively small area, with Red Phazon that the Phazon Suit can't protect Samus from in most of the rooms. The entrance contains a Save Station, and halfway up the Phazon Core room is a Missile Station that Samus can use before facing Metroid Prime. The Phazon Core also contains an infinite number of Fission Metroids.
