King is a fictional pet from the SNES game EarthBound. It is the dog of the protagonist Ness. His thoughts are able to be understood by Ness, even though he has no telepathy. At the beginning of the game, King will join Ness's party, aiding him and Porky Minch in the search of the latter's younger brother Picky. However, there's a point where the dog will become scared and will then leave.

King does not have a major role in the storyline, though it appears in Magicant, in Ness's memory once he has all the melodies recorded in the Sound Stone, and in the vision he has in Giant Step.
