Kouichi Kawamoto is the Producer of one of the Nintendo Entertainment Planning and Development group alongside Takayuki Shimamura. He was Producer and Technology Chief in Nintendo's Software Development & Design Department. He is behind the Brain Age and StreetPass Mii Plaza games and has been heavily involved with system applications. He was also the Nintendo Switch General Director.

In Mario Artist: Polygon Studio, he was at charge of the "Sound Bomber" minigames that would serve as the basis for the WarioWare series, even though Kawamoto didn't work on WarioWare himself.
