Lanmola is a boss enemy that appeared in many The Legend of Zelda video games, all of which were near the start of the series. His first appearance was in none-other than the first Legend of Zelda video game. In this game, they did not appear as an actual boss or mini-boss. They were however rather challenging to defeat, as they would usually attack in pairs. In this game, there are two types of Lanmolas, a red one and a blue one. The latter is more powerful and faster.
His next appearance was in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. In this game, you must fight three at once in a boss fight. The three of them will each pop out of the sand and either attack Link by ramming into him, or shoot out some sort of bullet at him. You will also have to fight a similar boss fight later on in the game.
In his (so far) last appearance, he took the same role that he did in the previous game - a boss in a desert themed area. Despite the boss fight being almost the same as last time, this one has quicksand.
It also appears as the fifth reincarnation of the final boss in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
