Ludwig von Koopa is the boss of the seventh world in Super Mario Bros. 3 and Bowser's second-in-command. This Koopa resembles real-world famous composer and pianist, Ludwig Von Beethoven and has the power to shake the ground and throw fire blasts from his wand. He is the oldest of the Koopa siblings and also makes an appearance in Super Mario World as the boss of the Twin Bridges Area. He has also appeared as the main villain in a choose-your-adventure book where he kidnaps Peach and guards him against the Mario Bros. He is the Inventor of a lot of Bowser's evil machinery according to the Super Mario Bros. cartoon. He also never combs his hair or brushes his teeth.

[edit] Pipe Land

Ludwig first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3. He is the oldest Koopaling and second in command. He is the last Koopaling to be fought and takes over pipe land. His Airship is the Koopa's flagship. Mario defeats him and takes back the wand.

[edit] On Cookie Mountain

Ludwig holds a Yoshi trapped in an egg in Castle # 4 on Cookie Mountain. Here he sings Koopa symphonies. He fights by spitting fireballs at Mario and retreats in his shell and attacks. When he is defeated, Mario tries to blow the castle up, but it ends up flying like a rocket and crashes into a bush leaving a bandage on it.

[edit] Removed from Positions of Royal Power

After many years Bowser jr becomes second in command. When Cackletta took over Bowser's body the Koopalings did what she said believing that it was still their father. Ludwig is the fourth Koopaling to be fought in the castle.

A few years later he appeared in the SNES video game Yoshi's Safari as a boss enemy, and in the GBA game Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.
