Luigi's Mansion is the main setting of the GameCube game of the same name.

Appearances

Luigi's Mansion

As aforementioned Luigi's Mansion was the main location of the game Luigi's Mansion. The levels of this game where based off of the floors of the house. Story-wise, this was a mansion in Boo Woods created by King Boo to trap the Mario Bros. Luigi won the mansion in a contest that he didn't know he entered and he invited Mario to check out the place with him. Mario arrived first and was ambushed, and captured. Luigi then went on a quest to rid the house of the Ghosts of the previous owners. At the end of the game, the house is ruined, and if Luigi had collected enough money, he would rebuild it.

Other appearances

It has been featured in many other Mario games, including three Mario Kart games, namely Mario Kart DS and Mario Kart 7 (as the 4th cource of the Shell Cup), In Mario Kart: Double Dash‼ it was a battle stage, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

In Mario Kart DS, the cource goes inside the building and the exterior. The track starts at the entrance of the building, and after two mild turns and an item-box spot, there's the entrance, a downhill slope, two 90° corners (which is a great spot for a banana peel) another slope, and into a living-style room. The player can choose whether to go on the right side or the left side of the table-like section in the middle. After the living room, there's the 2nd item spot, and goes into the graveyard-looking garden. In the garden, there are some turns, and a fence that leads to the exterior. In the outside of the mansion there are some creepy trees that walk in a spider-like manner. After dodging them, mud is on the track with only a few round dry patches. The mud disables you to change the direction of where the kart is going dynamically. On a patch there is the 3rd item spot. When the mud-patch finishes, there is a left turn and the starting line.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the player can break the house if the attack the pillars on the sides of both the top and the bottom floors. The players can even break it down to a pile, but the house will magically reconstruct itself after a short time.
