Madam MeowMeow is a minor character found in the Game Boy video game The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and its Game Boy Color remake The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX. In the video games, she resides in Mabe Village, and has a love for her Chain Chomp Bow-Wow. Fans of the Mario series will recognize the species, as it was ripped right out of Super Mario Bros. 3, which was released just a few years prior on the NES. In total it is known that she owns three different Chain Chomps, with the primary one being Bow-Wow, who was kidnapped (or as she explains, dognapped) by a gang of evil Moblins. After saving Bow-Wow, Madam MeowMeow will give Link the ability to take him on a walk, which is needed in order to gain access to Bottle Grotto.
