Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions (JP) is an RPG Nintendo 3DS game which is a remake of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, released for the Game Boy Advance in 2003. The game also has an added story called Minion Quest which supports amiibo.

It was released in the Americas and Europe on October 6, 2017.

Changes from Superstar Saga

  • Mario and Luigi will now jump twice on an enemy if the player performs an excellent, just like in previous installments since Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.
  • The Emergency Guard from Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam is added.
  • Enemy stats have been changed.
  • Advanced Bros. Attacks are now separately selected and cost more Bros. Points to use.
  • Mario & Luigi now make sounds whenever they are hit in battle as well as during Bros. Attacks.
  • The game now has a lot of new features due to the added second screen.
  • Mario & Luigi's passports showing their level and stats displayed in battle
  • Below their stats, there are two buttons labeled "Assistance" and "GUIDE" though it's still unknown what they will do.
  • A tutorial for attacks displayed in battle similar to the one in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam.
  • In the overworld, the touchscreen can be used to switch between moves like the High Jump or the Spin Jump.
  • There is a button labeled "Mini Map" displayed in the overworld.
  • Heart Blocks are present in every version of the game unlike in the original, where only the Japanese version featured them.
  • While still appearing to be able to switch places, Mario will always use the A Button and Luigi will always use the B-Button, regardless of which brother is in front.
  • Cutscenes can be sped up with the R-Button.
  • The time limit to collect ten Hoohoo Spirits in Hoohooros's minigame has increased from 30 seconds to 35.
  • Jump, Hammer, and Hand are in separate command blocks.

Minion Quest: The Search for Bowser

Minion Quest: The Search for Bowser (JP) is a new side story where Captain Goomba attempts to rescue Bowser from Fawful. The gameplay includes two teams with 8 fighters on each side. The fight will go on automatic except for the captain's commands which cost a certain amount of CP (captain points).
