[edit] Life at HAL
Masahiro Sakurai started working at HAL Laboratory where he created Kirby at 19 years of age.He continued working there till August 5 2003, which made many believe that the Kirby and Super Smash Bros. series would no longer be made. He resigned seeking more freedom and not happy with the structure of HAL, but also the sequelization of the industry.

After leaving HAL, Sakurai began working with Q Entertainment with Tetsuya Muzuguchi , which resulted in the game Meteos, a game for the Nintendo DS.
On September 2005, he announced his own company, Sora, in which they have completed there first game, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, with support form other companies.He updated the Brawl site, Super Smash Bros Dojo, with information about the game and also has a column in Famitsu magazine.
