This a list consisting of music composers and arrangers of the Super Smash Bros. series, which mainly consist of music staff of Nintendo, HAL Laboratory, Bandai Namco, and freelance musicians. Except for Grant Kirkhope and Toby Fox, all composers are Japanese, having worked at various companies from Japan.

Akihiro Honda[]

Akihiro Honda

Akihiro Honda (JP: 本田 晃弘) is a game composer and sound designer who is best known for his work in the Metal Gear series. Until 2014, Honda was an in-house staff member at Konami's sound department. He is currently employed at Cygames as of 2015. He has provided music arrangement tracks in Brawl and Ultimate.

Arata Iiyoshi[]

Arata Iiyoshi is a composer, known for the music from the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon and Beatmania series. He arranged some themes for Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Asuka Hayazaki[]

Hayazaki is an in-house composer at Nintendo who is known for the Zelda and Mario franchises.

Asuka Ito[]

Asuka has rearranged two tracks from Pilotwings Resort in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. She left Nintendo in 2014 and now resides in Los Angeles where she worked mostly on independent and Hong Kong films, primarily collaborating with composer Nathan Wang. She sometimes works on Japanese productions as well.

Atsuko Asahi[]

Notable for her work in Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Mario Kart 8, Asahi has provided a few arrangements in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U, and two DLC arrangements for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate from ARMS which she worked on.

Daisuke Matsuoka[]

Matsuoka has rearragned two tracks from Find Mii II in Smash Bros. 4.

Grant Kirkhope[]

Main article: Grant Kirkhope

Best known for his work in the Rareware-era games on the Nintendo 64 and later Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, Kirkhope rearranged the "Spiral Mountain" track for the Banjo-Kazooie DLC in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Confirmed by Masahiro Sakurai, Kirkhope is the series' first-ever "overseas" composer. Sakurai said that despite concerns over his "language barrier", the soundtrack "fits perfectly".[1] He is one of the only two non-Japanese musicians, next to Toby Fox (see below), to work in the Smash Bros. series music.

Hajime Wakai[]

Wakai is a music composer and sound supervisor best known for his work in The Legend of Zelda series.

Hideaki Kobayashi[]

Hideaki Kobayashi (HIDE-AKI; also known as Kobayashi Hidetoshi) is a game composer at Sega, where he has worked mostly on the Phantasy Star and Sonic the Hedgehog franchises. He was born on October 18, 1973 in Tokyo, Japan. Kobayashi has arranged the "Midna's Lament" track in Ultimate.

HIDE+HIDE[]

HIDE+HIDE is a duo name of Japanese music composers, Hideki Ishigaki and Hideki Onoue. As part of Japan's Heart Label, their work is notable for their ancient-style Japanese music. In gaming, the duo have provided two tracks in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. They are among the music performers in Super Mario 3D World and Ninjala, and Ishigaki alone performed in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey.

Hideki Sakamoto[]

Hideki Sakamoto

Hideki Sakamoto is a game composer and the CEO of noisycroak Co., Ltd. He has worked on the Tokuiden and echocrome series, among other titles.

Notoriously, he composed Lifelight, the main theme for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as has also provided various arrangements for the series.

Hirokazu Ando[]

Main article: Hirokazu Ando

Hirokazu Ando is a staff member at HAL Laboratory's sound department who has composed and arranged all music in the original Super Smash Bros. game for the Nintendo 64, and providing music in its GameCube sequel. Ando has provided music for the Kirby franchise which was also created by Masahiro Sakurai, and has continued to compose music for the series since Sakurai's departure. With a total of 56 tracks, including victory themes and additional music (60 if counting the Smashing...Live! arrangements), Ando has composed and arranged more music than any other composer in the series.

Hirokazu Koshio[]

Hirokazu Koshio (born June 2, 1980) is a Japanese composer at Taito's Zuntata sound group who has arranged the "Wii Shop Channel" track in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Koshio often goes by COSIO (spoof of CASIO), COSIOSTONE, Jupiter-B, and E.G.G. (Everything Get Grove).

Hirokazu Tanaka[]

Tanaka has composed various Nintendo Entertainment System games who is now the president of Creatures Inc. of the Pokémon series. He has arranged numerous tracks starting from Brawl.

Hiroki Morishita[]

Morishita is a staff member of Intelligent Systems where he worked on Fire Emblem Fates, and arranged some tracks in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. He's the only series' composer to arrange a soundtrack from a mobile game (Fire Emblem Heroes).

Hiroshi Yamaguchi[]

Yamaguchi is a staff member of PlatinumGames who worked on gmaes such as Bayonetta and Star Fox Zero. He has arranged the "Map Page/Bonus Level" track from Donkey Kong Country in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Jun Fukuda[]

Jun Fukuda (born June 9, 1974) is a game composer and sound designer who usually works alongside Masafumi Takada on various titles, including No More Heroes. Fukuda has arranged the "Butter Building" track in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Jun Senoue[]

Jun Senoue is a Sega composer and the current sound director of the Sonic the Hedgehog series, having worked on many of the titles of the franchise. He arranged some themes for Brawl and Ultimate, including "Angel Island Zone", which notoriously remains the only Sonic arrangement in the series to date.

Keigo Ozaki (born October 15, 1982) is a composer and sound designer who works at Game Arts. As such, he has arranged some music tracks in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This is one of his few music works in his game career.

Maki Kirioka is a composer and sound editor. Kirioka is a former staff member at Konami's KCE Japan Sound Team division and Procyon Studio. Masaaki Iwasaki[]

Masaaki Iwasaki (better known as Koremasa) is a freelance game composer and sound editor. He was formerly a colleague of Shogo Sakai at Data East, and as such he has assisted with sound effect production on some of the games composed by Sakai at HAL Laboratory; those include Mother 3, Super Smash Bros. Brawl (where he arranged two Mario tracks), Kirby Mass Attack and Kirby and the Rainbow Curse.

Masashi Hamauzu (born September 20, 1971) is a Japanese composer and arranger who has worked for Square Enix from 1996 until 2010, where he scored titles like Final Fantasy XIII. Afterwards, Hamauzu went to form his own company, MONOMUSIK. He has arranged two tracks for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U.

Motoi Sakuraba[]

Sakuraba has composed 15 music arrangements for the series. Outside of Smash, he is the composer of various Mario sports games, and is the lead composer of the other Sakurai-headed game, Kid Icarus: Uprising.

Naoto Kubo[]

Kubo is known for his work in Super Mario Odyssey including the "Jump Up, Super Star!" song. He has arranged the "Napalm Man Stage" soundtrack from Mega Man 5.

Nobuko Toda[]

Nobuko Toda

Nobuko Toda (born November 18, 1972) is a Japanese composer, orchestrator, and score producer who is known for working on the Metal Gear Solid series. Toda worked at Konami's sound division from 2004 until 2010, where she went to work at FILM SCORE LLC. Toda has worked on arrangements in Super Smash Bros. 4 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Takeshi Kuramochi (born August 11, 1981) is a Japanese composer and businessman who is a former staff member at Konami, where he worked on the Castlevania series among other titles. He is the founder and president of IZENE Corporation and its subsidiary INSPION STUDIO. He has worked on several arrangements in Super Smash Bros.
