Masamichi Abe is a video game designer. He started in the industry at around 1994 in Namco, where he worked on the Tekken franchise. He later joined Nintendo EAD, where he directed 1080° Snowboarding and both Pikmin and Pikmin 2 along Shigefumi Hino.

After his work on Pikmin 2, Abe left Japan and moved to Nintendo Software Technology in Seattle, Washington, where he worked on games like Metroid Prime: Hunters and most Mario vs. Donkey Kong titles. In recent years he has been mostly involved in Japanese localization.
