Metapod(JP) is a species of Pokémon in the series of the same name. It is a Bug type Pokémon that made its first appearance in the first generation games Red and Blue. It evolves from Caterpie at level 7 and into Butterfree at level 10.

Pokémon Red and Blue This Pokémon is vulnerable to attack while its shell is soft, exposing its weak and tender body.
Pokémon Yellow Hardens its shell to protect itself. However, a large impact may cause it to pop out of its shell.
